I’ve never had a moment when I thought: “Tom, you’ve made it!“, and I don’t think I want to, because that feels like you’ve reached the end; that you’ve crossed the finish line. But to me there is no end. An achievement is not a finish line; it’s a checkpoint on a far greater journey. It’s a moment to pause, to take a breath and look back and enjoy what you’ve experienced and be grateful for it, but then to turn around and look towards the next checkpoint, the next achievement.

If I have one piece of advice to give you all about what to search for in your quest for What Next, it’s to find where the line blurs between hard work and happiness for you. To find that thing where working hard at it makes you happy, and where you’re happy to work hard at it.

Don’t just survive. Shine.

It's something we don't like talking about because it's hard enough keeping stuff out of the press as it is. With all the crap that people write as well, it's just misrepresented and tangled.

We definitely have a lot of input. All of us are quite artistic so we like to get involved in the album and single covers. It's horrible when it feels like something's being done for you.

We have a great relationship with our label. We do have the creative freedom. For She Falls Asleep (a track on Wonderland) they paid for a 60-piece symphony orchestra. There are no guitars and drums on it. I don't think there is any other pop act that has that kind of freedom, and that is what separates us from the others. We are a proper pop band, and it's all our work. We are not a brand created to sell to kids, which makes us different from some of the other s**t out there.

It does get tiring. The past few weeks have been the most stressful we've had in a while.

Playing My Generation and having Roger Daltrey singing with us was unbelievable.

I think we've just started to find our own sound. And we've become more experienced songwriters and musicians. Also a lot has happened to us in our personal lives as well, we've got more to talk about.

Disney happy is the most happy you can be. It’s at the top of the happy scale right above eating cheesecake in a hot tub.
